Up pinchot pass. It was nice and easy with little snow. By lake Marjorie. An easy 10 miles down and up to Mather pass. Despite what southbound hikers said Mather pass was not easy. A mix of loose talus and soft snow with no trail for a half mile steeply downward. Took almost 2 hours to go a half mile. There were many places other people chose to glissade… but a surprising number of those tracks dead ended into rocks. Ouch. Found a nice campsite above upper Palisade lake to get a restful nights sleep.
